MARKETPLACE POSTING TOOL
========================
Posts your used cars to Facebook Marketplace for you, one at a time, while you get on with your day.
Your inventory, photos and settings are stored on your own computer. The app sends your access code to mmmpdx.com to verify access,
checks for updates, and sends the vehicle details and photos you choose to Facebook when posting.

INSTALL
1. Unzip this whole download (right-click the zip > Extract All). Do not run Install.cmd from inside the zip window:
it needs the other files next to it, and it will tell you to extract first.
2. Open the extracted folder and double-click Install.cmd
(Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" because the app is not code-signed.
Click "More info" then "Run anyway". The app only contains what you downloaded.)
3. Open "Marketplace Posting Tool" from the icon on your Desktop.

FIRST TIME
Enter the access code supplied with your purchase or by the administrator. An internet connection is required to verify access.
Then enter your dealership name, phone, city and an ad template. You can change all of it later in Settings.

LOADING YOUR CARS (two ways)
- Spreadsheet (any dealer): export your inventory as a CSV file from your inventory system. It needs a "Stock" column;
these are also understood: VIN, Year, Make, Model, Trim, Mileage, Price (or Retail/Internet), Exterior color, Interior color,
Body style, Fuel, Transmission, Description. Cost and wholesale columns are never read. Click "Import CSV".
- Your website (optional): if you have a dealer website, put its address in Settings (it works with Carsforsale.com, DealerCenter and most other
dealer website layouts; if the app cannot find your cars by itself, paste the address of your inventory page into the box under it) and
press "Pull Latest Inventory". The app opens its own window, reads your car list, then each car's page and photos, one page
at a time (about 4 seconds per car; you can change the pace in Settings). The first read of a big inventory takes a while,
and the app shows how much time is left. After that, only cars that are new or changed are read, so a repeat pull of a whole
inventory takes about half a minute. If the site shows a puzzle (CAPTCHA) solve it yourself. The app never tries to get
  around one.
Every time you open the app it checks your website by itself for new and changed cars (the website window appears without taking
over your screen). Turn this off in Settings > Website reading if you prefer to press "Pull Latest Inventory" yourself.
Then add photos (spreadsheet loads): open a car (Edit), choose Photos, "Add photos from this computer".

YOUR INVENTORY VAULT
The app keeps a safety copy of your cars, their Facebook listings and their photos in a vault folder:
Documents\Marketplace Posting Tool Vault\<your website>\ (one folder per dealer website). It saves itself after every pull and
every few minutes. If this app's data is ever lost, or you move to a new PC, install the app, add your website in Settings and
press "Restore my cars" (or "Restore missing cars" in Settings > Inventory vault) instead of reading your whole website again.
A restore only adds what is missing and never replaces anything. If your Documents folder is backed up to OneDrive or similar,
the vault is backed up with it (photos take space there). Delete the vault folder if you do not want it; the app makes a new one.

POSTING
1. Settings > "Open Facebook window", and sign in to Facebook there (the app never sees your password).
2. In the car list tick the cars you want, or press "Select All Valid Vehicles", and press "Post Selected Vehicles".
More than 20 cars at once asks you to confirm first (it takes hours, and Facebook can limit accounts that post a lot quickly).
To take ads down, open "Remove from Marketplace", tick the ads or press "Select all", then "Remove Selected Facebook Ads".
3. The app works in the background: its Facebook and website windows stay out of your way (they never jump in front of what you
are doing or take your keyboard) and only come forward when you need to sign in, answer a code or clear a check. To watch
them work, tick "Show the Facebook and website windows while the app works" in Settings. It fills the form one step at a time
(3 to 15 seconds apart, your choice in Settings), adds the photos, unticks any Facebook groups (unless you allowed groups), and presses Publish.
To take ads down: open "Remove from Marketplace" and press "Pull my Facebook listings". The app goes to Marketplace > Your
   listings in the Facebook window by itself (you only sign in, or answer a code, if Facebook asks) and reads the ads that are up;
nothing is changed. Tick the ads or press "Select all", then "Remove Selected Facebook Ads". The ads are deleted one at a time
in the Facebook window, only the ones you ticked, and it stops at the first ad that does not look exactly right. The very first
time on a computer it removes just ONE ad and stops, so you can check on Facebook that it worked before it does the rest.
4. Pressing "Post Selected Vehicles" is your approval of those cars, so the app keeps going on its own until they are all done
(it presses Publish itself, 30 seconds between cars). A car that cannot be posted is noted and the next car carries on. It only
stops, and says why, when Facebook needs you (a login, a puzzle or a check) or when it cannot tell whether an ad went up.
A progress bar shows which car it is on, which step, how many are done and roughly how long is left; a green message says
"100% done" when every car is up. If Facebook stops answering for a long time the app notices, checks why, closes and reopens
its Facebook window and starts that car again (up to 3 tries), then carries on. If Facebook wants a sign-in, a code or a
check, it brings its window forward and waits for you. It never starts a car over once Publish has been pressed, so a car is
   never posted twice.
Every car starts on a freshly loaded, blank Facebook form, so a car that Facebook will not accept never leaves its leftovers
for the next one. Facebook's form insists on the mileage, body style, exterior color and interior color: a car that has no
exterior or interior color (or one that is not a color Facebook offers) is held back before it is sent, with a plain reason
("Missing interior color ... Open the car and fill in Interior"), and the rest of the cars are posted. Open the car, fill in
the color, and post it again. Many dealer websites leave the interior color blank: in Settings you can choose an interior
color to state for those cars (it is used only when the car has none; "Hold those cars back" is the standard choice).

THINGS TO KNOW
- Facebook requires some details (body style, colors, fuel type, a condition). Cars missing them are reported. Fill them in on the
car (Edit). "Condition" is one value you choose in Settings and it is used for every car: make sure it is accurate.
- The "clean title" box on Facebook is never ticked for you.
- Automated posting may be against Facebook's terms. Facebook can limit accounts that post a lot or very fast. Use an account and
pace you are comfortable with. You are responsible for your listings.
- Back up: the vault above keeps your cars and photos. Settings > Encrypted local backup also exports everything except photos
(the app's settings, approvals and history); restore works from the same place.
- Improvements: the app checks the publisher's website for a newer version when it opens and every hour, and installs it quietly.
Settings > About shows your version, has a "Check for updates" button and, when an update is ready, "Restart now to use the new
version". Nothing about you or your cars is sent.

UNINSTALL
Double-click Uninstall.cmd. Your cars and settings are kept unless you delete the folder
%APPDATA%\Marketplace Posting Tool.
